short ram intake, causing check engine?
I got my short ram intake from a local shop awhile back, most likey an ebay intake. anyways, theres a little hose line that runs from the stock intake housing to somewhere around my intake manifold.
Ever since i put that cold air on when my car runs between 2000-3000RPMs my check engine light comes on. and i'm wondering if thats from air not getting in that little hose.
anyone else that this problem on there accord?
Thanks

Do you know what the code is when the check engine light comes on? If you don't you should have the code retrieved and that will tell you exactly what is wrong. There is a DIY on retrieving codes on this site somewhere. Do a search for codes and you should be able to find the self retrieval process.
If it happened after you switched to the SRI, then my guess is that the IAT (intake air temperature) sensor wasn't plugged in or isn't plugged in correctly. Retrieving the codes is very simple. I don't want to explain it, because you can easily find it by searching.

This is a write up for an integra. The steps are the same for the 5th gen Accords. The plastic connector under the glove box is blue in our Accords instead of green. At least it is in my 96.....may still be green in the 95's. No matter it's the only connector clipped directly under the glove box....

Well........ I've never had this happen. Well there are only 2 connections to the engine itself from the intake. The breather hose and the throttle body.
Make sure the hose isn't kinked first of all. Then I would reset the ECU then let it idle for 10 mins. Don't rev it, don't push any button. Just turn it on and idle. So it can adjust.

i got a pic of it. and this is only on the EX models.
Its the ELECTRONIC AIR CONTROL VALVE
-This valve installs on the backside of the intake and helps the computer to control the idle. Fits 94-97 EX Vtec models only. - taken from T.A.S. Auto.com
