so, why do you feel the need to raise the rev limit on a stock engine?

sounds like you have a stock motor. how about more detail in your posts next time?

i'd like to redline wherever power falls off. and the only way to determine that is on a dyno with engine management. crazy idea i know.

If you wanted to raise the redline on your engine, the time to decide that was BEFORE you rebuilt the engine.

In which case you would have installed aftermarket rod bolts, possibly upgraded connecting rods and dual coil valve springs. This would allow you to safely rev higher.

As some of our fellow HT members have already stated, there is no point in reving to 9000 if your engine quits making power at 7000. Better to shift and get back into a rev range that makes maximum power.

Buy a Hondata S300, Motec, DTA, Etc. ECU and then do what you want, 9000RPM sounds good.
