Default Car Audio/Stereo

Hi there,

I want to get a new car stereo for my 2005 EX Civic. I tried BestBuy website to check the compatibility but it seems to tell me everything does not fit!

What kind of deck I should be looking for, any recommendations from people who changed the original one ? Can I remove the storage below the deck to get a 2-deck ?

I am mainly looking for MP3 playback and maybe an IPOD connctor, and liked the Alpine ones.

ANy 2 cents?

Moh

go to crutchfield to check. anyways, you basically can get any you want. there are special trimmings you can get to match those that are different than the factory one

My first two head units were alpine units and they always worked great, the alpine speakers also sounded great when I had them, they hit pretty well on the bass.

Any single or double DIN deck will fit that car.

Best Buy's website is full of ****.

If you buy a single DIN deck, you will need a dash kit, which normally have a pocket below the radio, which replaces the factory pocket.

Or, you could use the factory brackets and ISO mount the new deck.

It's up to you. Less fuss involved with the dash kit.

From what I remember the 05 has a rounded edge on the radio (much like the 96-98 except on the opposite side) so iso-mounting might not look good at all.

ISO mounting is not an option.
Your gonna want to pick up a dash kit like this. Any single DIN HU should work with this kit. Wallmart carries Scosche products but they might not have the 01+ civic kit in stock. They should be able to order it for you though.
