70 - Ignition is turned from OFF to ON while driving
i keep getting this code on my 4ws. it's a temporary code on a 92 prelude si. i can reset it and it works for 2 blocks or 20 miles but throws this same code everytime. anyone ever had this problem?
You're getting a code 70 from the ECU? That's for the auto tranny.....

it's for the 4ws. the 4ws light flashes not the check engine light. and the 4ws works untill the light comes on then it stays straight
Hmmm....I checked my '95 Helms manual and it doesn't show a code 70 for the 4WS, only 71, 72, 73 and 74. Could it be one of those?
i'll check again but this is the link where i found the code 70

OK, yeah it doesn't show that code 70 in the book.
I think I paid about $60-70 from helminc.com.

I'm surprised it shows anything for the 4ws in the 95 helms as 94 was the last year for 4ws in the US.
To the OP, check the connections on the 4ws control unit, make sure they're all getting good contact.

There's a whole section for 4WS, probably so the manual will cover the previous years.

Code 70: it sais terminal 25 in 4ws control unit, or Harness connector Under "Temporary Driving Conditions" category. I would say its the contact point in the 4ws control unit. Which is I guess "accessorie power" to turn the 4ws on?
