itr swap is bling bling? you ever been in one? i have a jdm itr swap in my eg hatch and its definitely worth the money.

the best part is, you can sell the intake manifold, header, cams and valvetrain when you do decide to upgrade.

how much did u spend on your itr swap? i built a b20v swap and i was about 4000 into it and i made way over the power of a itr swap.. u can buy a b20 block for 500. a used itr head for 600 - 800 complete. itr tranny for 1000 = 2400. other stuf u need maybe 500 - 800.

4800 for my swap

bone stock 98spec itr, 245, 250, 245, 250 compression

hard to beat the reliability of a bone stock type r motor built by honda themselves

reliability is in who puts the motor together. i think its all in the bing of the itr swap.. if all u want is do have some power and have it for a dd ... then hey get the itr. but if u want go go build a motor.

<--- itr swap. built swap -->

Easiest way to look at it would be if the "perks" add up to that $1500 dollar number to you. If they do and it's worth it to you, your question is answered.

I made 187WHP on my ITR with (aem ITR CAI, dc 4-2-1 with 2 1/4" collector header , test pipe, buddyclub spec 2) and I'm happy.. its a fun motor.

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=2165808

I would say it's worth paying the extra $1500 because it's such a sick designed motor i mean 9000RPM SAFE rev all day long and the fact how it has 11:1 compression and its ready for stage 2 cams with stiffer valve springs. It also has factory dual valve springs and i seen people slap on buddyclub 3's for mid-range power with no upgraded valve springs.

ITR= better cams,lighter intake valves,factory bowl work,stiffer valvesprings,better intake manifold,better exhaust manifold(98+tubular)higher compression,piston coatings and most importantly a RED VALVECOVER-lol.

Plus with the ITR trans, you have closer gear ratios, higher FD,and factory LSD.

IMO ths is definately worth $1500 over a gsr swap...
But if your gonna go all out, $5K can build you a ITR killer(B20/vtec)

If you like wild reliability you want the ITR swap, if you want big power go with a built motor, B20 Franky.

Hears the million dollar ? How deep are your pockets?

If you half step a b20 franky your *** out, if you go out there getting on it all day to show your boys your the man it wont last.

With the ITR swap you can play hard all day long and have piece of mind. I have had both and the ITR swap I should off never sold to go B20.

But that is just my 2 cents from my own experiences. Now mind you I did the ITR swap back in 99 and went b20 in 2000, things have changed, but the nightmares of failed motors is the same.

thanks everyone i think i am going to do the itr, my goal is to later have a lasky racing build a b18 vtec for 600 hp i have done my research and i am being realistic. i know it will take me awhile to get the much cash together and i miss my car. the itr will be fun i can put my zex kit on it now finish piecing my turbo kit together put 8 or 9 pounds on this motor then build my next one, and either camp on this one or sell it since they have a higher resale value!!!
