Default LOWERED CARS ON EBAY COILOVERS and stock shocks

okay so through all the threads ive read . especially the dumped thread ive come across some nice cars who have admitted they are on stock shocks and just EBAY coilovers
i was amazed i wasthinking ebay coilvers would be around 150 but i just went on and found these

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...ZWDVW

they are really like 50 bucks shipped?!?!

i just really need to drop my car very bad and im on a tight budget because my money is going towards my engine swap but i want to drop my car . and i know my shocks will blow easier but im planning on getting the full F2 coilovers in late june. so this is just to hold me in for about 6 months.

i want to know what its like for you people on ebay coilovers and if its not that bad or what?

thanks

i know this isnt a great decision but i think it wont be too bad for just 5-6 months

first, just because someone's bro's boyfriend's exwife's babysitter does it it doesn't makes it's any more crappy to put it on your car.

the second question is F2 coilover even a good investment.

Well to directly answer you Q, there is a mod that you need to do to actually get them to fit on your car... what ebay will send you DOES NOT ACTUALLY FIT... Yes they send you all the parts but its such a general kit for like 40 diff cars you need to do some WORK to get them right without clunkyness and noise...if you PM me i can help you out with this and explain what i did... Its really not that bad and i have them slammed all the way down on the perches and i love it... ridin low...

I paid $130 for my Omni Sleeves. They ride like **** and aren't worth what I paid for them, so I say try the E-bay ones and see what they are like.

i was in the same position as you, but i just got lowering springs,it was like 40 bucks shipped or something stupid like that. and i threw them on my stock shocks and damn it dropped it PERFECT and rode greeeeaaat for like 2-3 months before my stock struts blew out because they arent meant to be lowered like that. so then i bought some koni yellows and threw the ebay springs on there and i couldnt be happier.

cliff- even if you do put any kind of spring on the stock strut, expect to fork out money months down the road for some new struts/full coilovers

**** i say do it. I told myself the samething that the ebay coilovers were temp but theyve been on the car for a while. I must admit, they ride like **** but i was aware of it. I actually am using Dropzone coilovers but i paid like 60 bucks for them because of a tuner store closing. Try to find some cheap "namebrand" coils for some assurance. Hope i helped

EDIT::
BTW they were purchased on ebay

**** I had ebay coilovers on my DC for 3 years. They rode pretty good IMHO. A cheap alternative. expletive all the brand ****** out there. Of course you can't expect them to be comparable to a full coilover setup, but they did the daily driver job for me. ****, I even took home some trophies in the local novice auto-x.

Ehh...i'd say they're crap. But then ive had GC's and skunk2's and they all have that clunkyness feeling to them. The problem i have with the ebays is that the sleeves are crap and strip easily if you twist them to lower or raise the car. But then it is your money, and if you want dumped for cheap, its better then cut springs

I had the honor to install "eBay" coilover sleeves about 3 years ago on a customer's car. I warned the person several times not to purchase them and not to have me install them. He used them for one week and brought the car back in wanting some Eibach sportline springs. Those piece of **** coilovers were the worst fitting cheapest damn things possible. I'm surpised the threaded sleeves don't break or strip out more. Basically he came in complaining about the ride and the aweful noises they made going down the road. No matter what kind of money situation I was in, there is no way in hell I would ever put these on my car. Why would you spend $50 now on some expletiveing junk that you will end up throwing away when you get your new suspension. If this stuff even lasts that long. I see no reason to not put that $50 into savings and hold off for those F2s. It just seems like you are going back-asswards to me...

If you're that desperate for a shop, buy'em. I bought mine off some dude on Craigslist for $20 bucks. Was aware they'd be bouncy as ****, but eh, I just couldn't stand seeing the grocery getter at a high height.

But I'm saving for some Omni's at the moment, so it's whatever to me.

I had a pair of those cheapies on my last EG. They install like $hit as the little rubber rings won't sit on the perch right. The car also rode like $hit

Fuster_Cluck is right the rubber O rings that they do supply dont fit right for sh*t.... But there is always a solution to the problem... Hit me up if you wanna ride EBAY with no problems... LOL

thanks guys...well i think i might not go with the ebay coilovers and might save a lil more for some name brand drop springs for now.

still not sure
i just hate how high my car is right now. the thing is my car in the rear isnt bad at all cuz i guess my old stock springs are saggy so they sit lower. but the fronts wheel gap is insane so it looks like a cholo car dropped in the back and not in the front. and even worse when i have friends in the back.

im thinkin about waiting to find some skunk2 drop springs or something on hondatech marketplace

my car rides like crap already and i dont know why. im thinking bushings but every bump i hit everything bangs and its super stiff but has hecka body roll but i know everything is stock

well ill see when ihave 150 bucks if i want the springs.

thanks for the help
more opinions are welcome

ive got a set of these springs sitting out in my garage that never got put on my Em1.. ive always considered putting them on, its sitting on tein s-techs right now, so its moderately lowered with a DECENT (shitty but not terribly shitty) ride quality beings that its still on stock shocks. but im wondering how much worse the ebay coilovers would be, because i think my car would really look a lot nicer a little bit lower than what the s-techs put me at.

H&R race will give you a nice height & a good ride (progressive springs) they can be had for less than $175 online. I paid $110 for mine about 2yrs ago, and I sold them back for $100 when I went w/ my D2 one-piece coilover!

dont they only lower you about 1.5 inch?
i guess the less theyre lowering you the better the ride right?
i think i might get some h & r springs.
theyre prolly a nicer ride the skunk2 cuz i hear skunk2 is very stiff.

My Miata is slammed with eBay coils and stock shocks until I find something better, rides like ****, but I can deal with it.
