yes.

but it's really not worth it unless you're baulin out of control and have all the time in the world.

the two are extremely similar. get some new cams, i/h/e and you'll be making good power.

just build the a2 it will be cheaper and faster. Its not a big difference as say a gsr and type r engine. They are both very similar just the k20a is more built for racing.

K20z1 belongs to an '05-'06 RSX Type-S and the K20a belongs to the Type-R model.

I believe they included Type-R cams and a few other things, but I'm not quite sure. Search for more information.

You are correct... they are typeR variants... assuming they are typeR cams. k20z1 also has shorter gear ratio then the 02-04. Other then that the rest is aestethics.

I believe the '02-'04 models have a 4.4 final drive while the '05-'06 have a 4.7 final drive.

yes it does but the 05-06 has a lower final gear ratio.
Lets say you are at 3000rpm at 60mph with a 4.4 now with a 4.7 you are now at 3300rpm at 60mph

that is why i prefer the 02-04 tranny, especially for boost

sell your swap for about 3200
purchase k20a swap for about 5600

for approx 2400 you get:
better header
better cams already installed
better valvetrain already installed
better/higher compression pistons already installed
better intake manifold already installed
better/smaller diameter crank pulley already installed
better/higher final drive already installed
better/more aggressive gearing already installed
better differential already installed
better valve cover LOL
better dip stick LOL
better overall powerband
better than aftermarket upgrade options reliability issues (lots of people experiencing timing chain slap and oil pump failure with aftermarket cams)
better/higher resale value of swap
better/matched ECU for your engine setup (PRC ECU)

seems like a decent deal to me.

Yeah but i want the newer body style vehicle. i do have a question about the k20a and the k20z1 in the 05-06 whats the big difference. i also think that i could just purchase the type r lsd and the final drive or is the type r tranny better over for boosting that is.
