id stick with the y8..

since you have a decent platform to go off of...

put that money that you were gunna spend for the zc and turbo it..\

the zc is obd0 i believe...and me personally...would rather keep the y8

a little more info, the single cam sohc zc is almost identical to the usdm d16a6... obd1?? not sure. And the vtec version is obd1 same as the usdm d16z6. The dohc zc both come in obd0 and obd1

Vague topic #85789567895???

Anyways did your stock engine blow up?

Looking for a replacement, or an UPGRADE?

Also do you live in a state that has emissions? If so you will need to do a few wiring changes to trick your ECU into thinking the JDM engine has the CKF sensor.

More info could help us help you.

BTW:

Reliability wise I gate any 96-00 D series engines. They have crap bottom ends that usually develop rod knocks WELL before the older ones do. I don't know if it's oiling issues, crappy bearings, or just crappy builds from the factory, but I'd take a 1988 D16A6 engine over a 2000 D16Y8 engine all day, every day.

why downgrade? stick with the y8 n build up on that

less headaches n work , by going zc route alot of wiring has to be done
