Default What's that buzzing noise?

I have a '95 Del Sol (just purchased @ Christmas). When it's turned off after being driven for a while (35-40 miles or more), there is a "buzzing" noise that seems to be coming from behind the seats. buzz, stop. buzz, stop. buzz, stop.

I can't identify the source of this sound, but popping the gas cap & equalizing the tank pressure makes it stop.

I'm getting no idiot lights, and I'm getting no diagnostic codes. The car doesn't seem to think it's a problem, but I'd still like to know what it is.

Main relay maybe? But if the cars off i dont know why it w on would be on at all. But since relieving tank pressure stops it, it may be evap related.

Yeah, my first thought was power antenna, too, but no power antenna, so not the case here.

I was wondering about the fuel pump, if maybe something was holding the circuit open. A sticking relay, perhaps?

I take it, though, from the answers I got, and moreso the overall LACK of answers, that this isn't a "normal" sound for this model. Okley Dokley, I guess I have some troubleshooting in my future :-)

Was some able to figure this out? I'm going through the same issue. Even with the battery unhooked, it will make the buzzing sound; on and off for at least an hour.

At first i thought someone left a vibrating cellphone in my car.
