i wouldn't... for one its an automatic, and two i'd rather swap the cx motor out for something a lil stronger to boost...

if you have to ask this question, then you really shouldn't bother.

It's more or less a waste. I've actually owned a turboed auto DX years ago (Greddy 15G) . You're better off doing a 5 speed swap and going from there.

You could do it, but i can't say how long that transmission is going to last. I think as long as your goals aren't outrageous, you may be able to build a simple setup for a little added zip. If the transmission ever did fail, just convert to a manual and keep on going.

I agree! 5 speed swap ftw.

The auto trannies really arent all that strong. My boy blew one up about a month ago running only 8psi.

i say if ur gonna spend 1000+ on a turbo setup then ill would just get a b18 swap or get a jdm d16 and put in there..a CX motor has no STOCK potential anyways..turbo charged at 10psi prolly wouldnt hang with an all motor LS (b18) just not worth it .. IMO

1. How old are you?

2. How much money do you have?

I'm dead serious.

LOLX1000

Dude, spray that tired single cam to death and then go B... It'll be way more fun to hear it blow up than blow off while making 100whp.

1. Profile says 28

2. Iono lol

OP: Your location says you are in CA. Given the CA emission laws and the amount of money you would have to spend in order go get a CARB legal turbo kit this is what I suggest.

Take that $3k you would spend on the kit itself (not including labor) and spend about $1k or so buying all the parts required to do an auto2manual swap and then drive your *** over to Hmotors in the Oxnard area and pick up (or have it shipped) a comeplete B18b swap for $2200. Tada!!!

Well I'm asking legit questions.

Too often we here in this 92-00 Civic forum have multi-page "argument" threads where the OP posts a "fantasy" build that he/she will never do, adn the rest of us get worked up about nothing in the end.

Having said that, I think boosting a stock engine with maybe 80whp and a auto tranny is a horrible, horrible idea.

You most certainly are. Too many people come on here and ask their "pipe dream" questions without giving it any real thought or doing any reasearch

Meh, i can't go around being too big of an *******. People have questions and sometimes dont know where to find the info they need. I think people need to search more, but i dont think there's an abundance of Auto D series engines to find info on.

Any Cx motor is gonna be really weak. A B-series swap is cheaper, and faster than a turbo Cx motor. The B-series wont go pshh, but it will sceam rpms and v-tec. Do wat makes u happy, but this is my opinion.
