Default Do i need a code to make my factory cd player work after the battery is replaced?

I know that my friend needed a code on his 99 SI when he replaced his battery. He looked in the trunk and there was a sticker with the code on it, on the trunk lid. In my 2000 EX, there is no code on the trunk lid, only a vin number sticker. So when i replace the battery am i going to have to call the dealership or something to get this code?

yes i believe you do. my neighbors 1998 accord needed it... my buddy's 1998 gsr needed it... you say your buddy's Si needed it. i'm pretty sure you need it too. if it is the original cd player with the original car it might have a card in the owners manual with the radio code. if not then you can call the dealer with the serial code of the radio and get the code.

If you have the factory stereo you will need a radio code which usually is in your glove box. If you don't have the code or lost it you can go to your honda dealership and give your vin number and they can pull the code up for you. -edit Actually theres a serial number thats on your radio which you give to the dealership and they use that to give you the code.

if you go to the honda dealer, they should be able to look up your vin number and get you the code to your radio

well i have heard of people getting charge because they didn't have the serial at hand so honda charged them to remove the radio to get the serial.

doesnt hurt at all to ask. its not like you stole the car and radio. if you did, i wouldnt go down there, but if not, the worst they can tell you is no.

Do it over the phone, just have the decks serial number ready.

You don't need the VIN, you need the serial number from the radio's casing. Sometimes there is a sticker in the glove box that has either the code or the serial number on it. I've never heard of anything being on the trunk lid.
