hi there i have a 95 civic vx i had a b16 in my car till i broke the tranny so in the mean time i hvae swapped over a d16z6 motor but now for some reason when i drivng and i down shift to slow down my CEL comes on its only when im decelerating like on the freeway in 5th gear if i let off the gas to just slow down alittle the CEL comes on. but as soon as i turn my car off then back on the light goes away. the only thing i can think of is i took the charcoal canister out and maybe that has somthing to do with it. this never happened with my b16. but i also ahd the charcoal canister in when i had the b16 in only when i just swapped out the motors i took to canister out cause it was ugly. any help is much appreciated.

i havent checked the code becasue everytime i turn the car off to check it when i turn it back on the CEL is not on. and i was not sure if jumping the plug while the car was on is ok or will it short somthing out. becasue i know that the directions say to turn the car off then jump the plug the turn the car back to the on positon.

 

I had a similar problem, and was told, its a soft code. Leave the car on and check it. My problem was the tps sensor.
