hey i have a 91 civic hb and the hood wont close all the way now...
before i can hit the metal latch and it would come out a little bit and i can close my hood
like now i push the bar into the hole from my hood into the latch and it just pops right out...

 

On the hood, theres a hook and a spear looking thing, if the spear thing isnt going the hole on the core support then make the spear longer, if it goes too deep into the hole then make it shorter.

 

ya the spear thing doesnt go into the hole so i press the hood part towards the car so it goes in.. and it used to go in and now it wont stay closed the hole where it goes in at.. there should be a little thing that comes half way out to grab the spear looking thing to hold it in i think it slides back in idk what to do ? and its my daily driver

How to make adjustments:

 

ya it gets a little stuck so i usually hit it lightly and it slowly comes out
but now the spear thing wont even grip it idk if i bent it cause i tried to close it and it didnt hit the hole so maybe the spear is bent idk but im gonna try to bend the spear a little and play with it

 

Have you replaced the cable??
If the cable is no good it won't release the catch for the hood to stay locked down

 

the catch is realeased its just not keeping the spear down for the hood to stay locked idk?

 

just play with it, you do know that theres a nut you can turn to adjust the spear thing right?

 

Man I had the same problem with my rex. That hood took forever to go on. Make sure its aligned, lube er up and slam it in!!!
