I hate to be cliche, but read the FAQ.

calling a swap "good" means different things to different people. You have to consider your budget, goals and mechanical abilites.

In terms of parts needed and any wiring changes that will have to be made, consult the FAQ.

It's faster than a D16A6, but not by very much. $1500 should get the swap done for you if you source your parts for cheap. Don't forget you'll need axles, mounts, shift linkage, an ECU and the parts for the MPFI conversion. You may also need a new radiator. Not to mention the tuneup parts you'll need. I've found that a properly done B-series swap usually runs around $2K.

If you're not planning on building internals or going turbo, I'd actually suggest a DOHC ZC instead. It'll cost much less than the LS and give similar results.

ive having a hard time finding a d16a6 in michigan and indiana, i wanna turbo whatever engine i deside to do, only a small turbo tho like 5-6psi know what im sayin nuttin huge or anything just somthing pretty quick. but now when i get more money to work with on the other hand i wanna build a track car or somthing.anyway yeah ive been looking on hmotorsonline quite a bit but i dont know how much shipping and all that is. cuz i first wanted the d15b SOHC VTEC seems like a badass engine. i think the price was 499.00 with everything. yea ill check into the ZC. if you know anything like the shipping cost on hmotorsonline you should lemme know! thx

are you serious? a ls is a good swap cause its easy and cheap. your better off finding a motor localy maybe out of a wrecked teg. my first swap was a ls motor and after everything i spent maybe a 1000 thats an over estimate. and ls motors are great to boost plus it has lots of tourqe stock. it will feel much faster then a single cam any day.

Feel faster, but I don't really consider a few tenths of a second off the 1/4 mi time to be a significant jump. To each his own.

My point was that with his budget, he could do a D16A6, D15B VTEC or DOHC ZC swap and still haver some $$$ left over for a small boost setup. That would be significantly faster than a LS swap.

if ur going turbo i'd rather put an ls engine jus because it will have better potential than an a6 engine. but if u wanna just have fun boost the sohc
