ECU code 8 ??? need help
What is a TDC sensor and How Can I fix it? I am having issues with stalling out when I stop the check engine ligt comes on and I can't figre it out I just put in a new Valve cover gasket, new plugs, wires, distributor cap, rotor, o2 sensor. It cleared my last two error codes of 15,16 but now I'm getting an error code of 8 with all the same problems any advice?
yeah code #8 is your tdc...
check your dizzy wires and see if any are bad.
if not change your dizzy.
THE -TDC- SENSOR IS INSIDE YOUR DISTREBUTOR...

what should I check on the distributor? now I'm getting codes 4,8,15 all on the distributor changed the ignition module but don't know what else to check..
most of the time you cant fix your tdc...
your best bet is to change your dizzy.
code 4 CKP - crank position sensor (i think this sensor is in your dizzy also)
code 15 Ignition output signal
it sounds like its your wiring to your dizzy.
check your dizzy clips and make sure that they are hooked up right.
what year is your moter and car?

You stopped getting codes once you changed the distributor cap??
I am getting code 8 on this sedan I'm fixing right now but the distributor is brand spakin new... far as I can tell the cap and rotor are too but the rotor looks warped or bent somehow....

I'm checkin now, both plugs look good but I didn't see any other wires going to the dist.
Got a new rotor now cuz the old one looked broken, also flushed out the gas cuz it didn't hardly have any smell to it.
Weird thing is the ECU code wouldn't even come on for like 10 seconds of cranking...
Anyways, just in case I messed up the rotor - how are you supposed to put it on the right way? on my Prelude the shaft was notched so it would only go on one way but these Civics you can spin it freely on the shaft....

it's a 91 sedan DX with everything bone stock, D15B2 DPFI piece of junk.
After fiddling around all day all I have been able to figure out is that it's not starting because no spark is getting to the plugs.
There is power on the 2P plug, 11.5v on the black/yel wire. On the 6p plug I think 2 of them had 0.5v and one had 0.02v
Testing the coil it was right in the middle of spec as per the FSM between + to - and between + to the 'secondary winding'.
The cap and rotor are brand new, and I swapped the igniter out with one that was in a running car before removal. Still no spark on any of the wires.
Checking another 'no spark' thread the guy said that fixing the main relay solved the problem? I wasn't aware that the main relay would do that...

Just to confirm - the main relay could still be causing this no-spark situation?
I've dealt with no-spark Civics before but this one is puzzling me since the coil tests good and it is getting power. Fuel pump is on, just no spark.
