I have a 91 Honda civic hatchback that will not start.
I have gotten a hold of civic that is not running. It was running but had a stalling problem before we took it to a mechanic. He replaced the fuel pump and distributor and the car ran great for a few days then it started the problem again. On our way back from Greenville the car would stall then I would restart it then it would stall over and over again till it would not start at all. We took it back to the mechanic and he said he was working on it for 2 months but the car never moved. So we finally get a hold of him and he said he has no clue what the problem is and we should take it to Honda dealership. Does any one have a clue as to what’s wrong with the car? and it will turn over it just wont start.
do u hear the fuel pump prime when u turn the key on also do u hear the main relay under the dash click on and off?
no dont turn the engine over just the click before it turns over when the dash lights come on does do u hear it priming or the relay clicking right under ur dash near ur hood popper?
I just checked the relay and could not hear it click on but could here it click off. Is there any way a car can not start with the plugs getting a spark and not start? And how can i check to see if the plugs getting a spark?

Hold on, hold on.
Here's the proper way to check for a bad main relay:
1) Turn ignition to "II" position
2) Check engine light comes on for a few seconds, you should hear the fuel pump whirring underneath the back seat
3) After the CEL goes off, you should hear an audible "click" from the footwell near the dead pedal
4) If you don't hear the pump or the click, try changing the main relay to see if it solves the problem.
