You didn't ask a, "yes or no question".

You should tighten the distributor and readjust as needed.

Your ecu is under the carpet in the passengerside footwell, if its an 88 it'll have a little clear window on the front of the ecu count how many times it blinks if its one code it should look like this
. . . . . . . ._. . . . . . . ._. . . . . . . . Would be code 8 get it? Check a repair manual to see what it is

Well you would need to jumper the Service/timing connector and turn the key to the on position and watch the Check Engine Light. It will do the blinking. This is for OBDI. I am not sure what the P28 is, I believe it is OBDI.

He is looking for a wiring diagram to see where the service connector wires hook up to the ECU. Sorry I don't have that.

That is the thing...it could of been stuffed around by the ECU or the kick panel. Look around there for a weird two pin connector (I believe it is gray) or a yellow rubber cover that covers two connectors.

HOLY ELECTRICAL TAPE?!?!?!?!?!?
Did you "make" your own jumper harness. . . .my first wiring job was a mess too. . . . .I'm pretty sure that's not it cuz if it was in the wheel well it wud be to the right and away from the ecu try the left front shock tower

Hmm. well..a.... I would go for the one under the hood as that is where a 90ish should be. You can never tell when the word swap is involved.

Is it the one in front of the drivers side strut tower by the motor mount? That is it.

maybe.....

have the bolts loose enough that you can move the distributor by hand, adjust as needed and tighten them up.

I guess my last post didn't make it. I did try to tell you that I was leaving and I would check back in tomorrow.

Since we don't know what was done it is hard to tell.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by thesmogman &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Hmm. well..a.... I would go for the one under the hood as that is where a 90ish should be. You can never tell when the word swap is involved.

So try to find the wiring diagram for the P28 and then find the service connector pins from the ecu. Then we can just do it from there.
