Pager Alarm?
Ive searched NOTHING anyways I need a good Pager Alarm I have no protection for my teg. I wanna spend about $400 just for alarm and pager without installation
you need to spend more time researching. A good alarm with an aftermarket pager addon will prob do you better. For example, I bought my alarm for $80, added a pager for $100, window modules for 40, getting digital tilt sensors for 40, dual stage shock and remote start were already on the alarm, radar/perimiter is added on for 30.
now heres the kicker...this is all CAD dollars (divide by 1.6 to get rough US)
So my advice is to spend the extra cash on a good install rather than a super expensive alarm. Figure out what features you need, find an alarm that will do it for you, and get it installed professionally. Theres a post a while back (less than 1 month) that everyone chimed in about what to look for in a good installer and alarm. You might have to search archive for it.
By the way, the aftermarket pager i'm using in case you want to look it up is the milennium FX pager. It's a great little FM frequency pager, stay away from AM band ones, they do not get good range at all.
Hope this helps a bit! Sorry if i came by harsh at all, it was not my intent. its just I'm a true beliver that an alarm; regardless of cost, is only as good as the install.

A wire with two alligator clips can disable most of them I won't mention how. The other thing I don't like about them is they use a carrier frequency that is widley used. In other words if your in a area that the particular frequency gets used the range is cut drastically. Like a mall or near a cell phone tower.
Someone that really knows what they are doing can get ok range out of them, this would mean matching the antenna to the transmitter. Few people do this.

Having owned a paging alarm sytem before, I don't like pagers for the following reasons:
1. There's a few seconds delay after your alarm goes off before you actually receive a page.
2. If you're in a mall or store, it's gonna take you some additional time to get to your car.
3. False alarms get annoying very quickly....
4. Not worth the extra $150-200 to add it on.
Given these reasons, its obvious that people are still that paranoid and need to feel more protected. Well, more $$$ for the alarm companies and car stereo shops...

Not trying to be argumentative, but I have the Alpine paging system on my alarm and I think it is a great investment.
In response to what was just said in the last post:
1. Doesn't matter, NO ONE is THAT fast. Mine has about a three second delay. I'm being notified when I otherwise would not be without the paging unit.
2. Doesn't matter. I'm being notified when I otherwise would not be without the paging unit. How long does it take you to get to a car that is being broke into when you DON'T know its happening.
3. Very true. Sensitivity must be set to eliminate most.
4. If only once, (and it has already happened with me) I am notified that my alarm is going off and someone is actually trying to break in, the product has paid for itself.
It did take me a while to get the sensitivity right so that it was not falsing a lot. But once that was set I was good. I don't know about the other ones but my alarm is two stage and the Alpine makes use of this. If something very light taps my car, or even some bass sets it off, I will get paged with a green LED. If something sets off the alarm full blast them I get paged with a red LED. This also helps to not have to go running out to the car all the time.
