Default 91 Civic with a 95 Civic SI Vtech swap

I'm having performance issues with my engine swap. I bought the car with the swap already done, and have tried everything I can think of to make it run better. It's very hard to start in the morning, whether it's hot or cold out. I'm looking into changing out the stock 91 ECU for the 95 ECU, but don't know if this would help or just be a waste of time and money. Any advice on the easiest way to obtain optimum performance with this kind of swap?

This guy ^^^ is right.

BTW, before anyone gets angry at you, it's spelled VTEC. Not Vtech, V-tech, V-TEC, V-TEK, VTEK or VTAK.

Ok, so you're running a VTEC engine with a non-vtec ecu and wondering why it's running funny? Figure out how many CEL's you have, if you don't know how, there is a good sticky in the EF forum's FAQ.

Find out what check engine lights there are and we can help waaaay better.
