ok i got the valve cover gasket off, and i'm gonna let it sit overnight and try it again tm.
i have a 99 Integra LS.
valve adjustment question - i know the marks on the cam and the crank pulley. #1 is closest to the timing belt, then on the way down to distributor. when up thats #1. ok so there is the 12mm adjusting nut, and screw that i turn. i have the speical tool.
specs are 0.003-0.005 for intake, 0.006-0.008 for exhaust side. when i try to slide it in the intake......0.003 wont fit, and 0.006 exhaust won't fit....i tried the other 4 cylinders and the same thing. i stick right under the rocker, and above the valve spring right? am i doing something wrong or is my valves all too tight...
reason i'm doing it is i hear a noise, that seems like its coming from the head. i want to elimnate valve adjustment before saying its something else. the noise sounded like the distributor bearing going bad, but i used a stethscope and noticed it was coming from right in the middle of the head...noise goes away, or is softer when car warms up. when completely cold , u can really hear it....
someone help thanks

adjusted it fine now...and the intake side were all too loose...exhaust side some were loose and some were too tight....
but the noise is still there so i'm guessing it might not be the problem...
