Default Idle problems! Help please! b18b in ek

here's my problem, pretty similar to everyone's that i've searched around on, but with a difference or two...

ok the car, a 96 civic dx with an obd I ls swap running a chipped p06. on cold start the car will idle from 1500-2000 rpm's really fast, up and down. as soon as the motor is fully warmed up the idle will smooth out, and idle low, usually 1000 rpm's or less. but here's where my real problem is, even after the motor warms up and the idle smooths out, if i'm cruising along in a gear at low rpm's, usually 2500 or less, the car will still act like it did when it idled irratic when cold. the rpms jump and fall really fast within 500 rpms and the car shakes awful like i'm just tapping the gas and letting off of it over and over until i give it more throttle and the rpm's build back up......anyone else had this problem? have any advice??

Hmm... sounds like a vacuum leak or leak in the intake piping to me. I've seen this fix such an issue on non-Honda vehicles.

yeah if it was ust a high idle... but its not its spuratic so its either tps needs adjusting or theres a sensor not working properly, or like in my case he needs a new base map on his ecu

I finnally got my troubles fixed i adjusted my idle first then adjusted the tps off the new adjusted throtle position (the key was doing it with a volt meter and not a plug n play to read my sensor settings ). but yeah check your cel codes see whats up if youve done anything to the TB readjust your idle then adjust the tps off your new idle settings.
