so i was driving to work normally and the transmission started to act up, it wouldnt stay in to 4th gear but all of the other gears seem to be perfect. by the way it's a b16 tranny. anyone have any idea what can cause this??

 

sounds like a bad synchro. I think you can have it repaired but I just bought a new tranny when it happened to me.

 

its the shifter bushing. try that first its cheaper than a new synchro

 

If there is too much play in your shifter i would say bushing, But if there really isn't much play in the shifter most likely a bad Syncro. I have seen Bushings SHOT to **** and still not throw the car out of gear.

if its throwing you out of gear then i dont think itd be the syncro,idk what itd be

 

most likely its the teeth on the gears that connect to the synchro, if its rounded, then that means its not locking on
