cold starts are horrible!!
i have a 93 civic ex with a d16z6. in the very cold mornings the starter can barely turn the motor. the motor then struggles to run like there is tons of strain on the motor. any ideas wut it is? car has 187000 miles.
Sounds like a shitty battery. Plus you live in the Northeast, so its probably ball freezing cold out there, so your oil is turning to rearend dope as it sits and gets cold overnight. My car does the same thing if I park the car into the wind on a cold night.
Yah I hear you about the bad start on Maine Mornings. -10 is not good. How old is your battery? Oil might be gelling up too. My battery is about a 5 year old cheap-o battery and it struggles sometimes So I know I will need to replace that soon.
im from montreal and at worst we have -30 -35 days here and the motor sounds like its screaming expletive you u bastard why are you doing this to me when it starts lol just let it warm up good before driving it

Ya, if it's really cold it's going to sound different.
Check your battery, how do you know it's okay? What grade of oil are you running? Starter cable/grounds/starter could be getting old.
No matter what you do, the car is going to crank a little slower and sound differently when you start it in the bitter cold compared to texas.
