Intake manfold gaskets
Im changing my head gasket so im also replacing the intake manifold gasket but I also recall seing a small gasket that pop'd off the bigger gasket(Dont know what it called) I got the gasket kit but It does not include that little grommit like gasket.
Should I continue with what I got or get that little piece?
Anyone know what im talking about? what the piece is called?....
Help me out fellas!
lil bit more info on that unknown item: it was orange, rectangular with a trimmed corner, if at front of car looking at motor with head removed; its on the intake manifold left lower area... hope that help a bit...?

the piece your talking about is on the intake manifold gasket, and it goes around a square shaped port from the manifold to the head....coolant flows through here...because our cars have a "wet" manifold, meaning coolant flows through part of it in an attempt to warm the fuel temperature before it enters the combustion chamber...this temperature increase helps atomize the fuel, allowing for more complete combustion and less chance for detonation....
a new intake manifold gasket will have this in tact on the passenger side of the gasket, if the manifold is not properly torqued or in the wrong sequence this seal will leak and coolant will be lost possibly causing an overheating issue

why does everyone keep saying pics will help if youve ever taken an intake manifold off youll know what hes talking about. if you get an oem gasket it will have the little part your talking about if you get a kragen one it wont but it will still work as long as everything is torqued right. to assure you you dont need it even hondata plastic gaskets dont have them. if your still iffy take the gasket back tell them its missing the part and you want another one see if it has it.
