Default Cut wires under my dash and what I believe is a security system...

ok So there is something to the right under my stearing wheel. I believe it to be a security system that the previous owners uninstalled when they sold me it. Well I was turning my MR light off and I found the other end of the wiring. Now I'm confused. I thought a device was there for GPS. But now it just looks like the cords were cut for no reason.

Thats what it looks like underneath. And there is the MR button so you can see where everything is.

That's the random button I THOUGHT was once connected to a GPS or security system. Please if you know, tell me what that **** is.

Your guess is probably correct, just leftover wiring. The button is probably a valet switch/button, or who knows what. Do yourself a favor and get a good pager alarm installed ASAP.

I actually am real soon. I have the valet mode still active on my car though. My car wouldnt start once and we took it in. They told us it was the valet button. Well that was still while those cords were cut. It's come on again since. They told me it was a button UNDER the dash. That button it like sitkcing out from under the wheel. I expletiveed around under the dash and somehow pressed the button and turned valet off and drove home. I never saw the button. But I pressed it.

Do you know what a good security system would be. I'll search the tech soon but I have work now.

DEI (viper/Clifford) pager alarms are good, also they have GPS now. Have it installed right (trunk/hood pin, backup battery/siren, relocate hood cable, etc.). Go to team-integra.com, read the security articles and FAQs and do them.
Also go to the Security forum here and read up.

Yes, they are good alarms, but no, if your car gets towed, it's gone. No alarm can stop a tow truck, they can only alert you that it is being towed/stolen.

I'm for sure getting GPS. I don't care much for alarms. I live in a safe area. my problem is when I drive it places. Most times, Im not then in ear shot. I liked the thread I read about the guy making his cellphone a GPS. I want something I can check it out. I'll go see where my car is before I call any cops. if I get the chance to bash the guys head in I will. If nothing is missing I'll let out some more anger and leave. I'd rather get my own car back.
