I bought a 1996 Honda Civic. It looks like the previous owner had an alarm system. There are two red wires going to what looks like it was a switch at one time. There is also a little red light on the dash. I came out to my car today and it would not start and my flashers were on. The wires came apart at the piece of the switch. Would this turn the flashers on and cause the car not to start? Do you think it has something to do with the old alarm?

Most likely, try to make contact and see if that turns them off. I pulled out the switch from my civic.

Remove the alarm system and return the wires to stock.

Thanks. I do not know where the wires go under the dash. I had to leave the car at work and catch a ride. I thought about connecting a switch and leave it in whatever position makes it work.


That did not work.How can I bypass the alarm and get the car home without a tow. Will disconnecting the battery reset it?
