200 whp 1.6 sohc
can i make 200 whp on stock internals? i am using an evo turbo and it's getting installed this weekend. i am just curious as to what kind of numbers to expect. as of right now i am not getting my car tuned but i have an fmu. any suggestions to squeeze out any extra power safely?
Your not going to make safe power on an fmu & no engine management.

yes my roomate is doing it right now and 200 is actually a safe # for a single the only thing is i'm not to familar with that turbo, but i'm sure it will make that much it's just how much boost you will have to run. my roomate is on a t3/to4 57 trim, if you want to be super safe than get a new hg and some arp head studs this will help against headlift, no matter what though get a good tune!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Best thing you can do is ditch the FMU and get an actual management system. Sure an FMU will give you more fuel (probably more then you need and at a very high pressure of course)...but what about timing? How do you plan on controlling that? Just get a system.
i am actually getting it tuned i just bought a p06 and a conversion harness. but for right now i just wanted to get it on the road. will i be safe with an fmu for a month or so until i can get it tuned properly?
also i was planning on buying a new hg also but i was not sure which one to buy. i heard o many people just buying factory honda hg's for their turbo projects because they are the mst reliable. am i totally off here? what would you guys recommend?
Well does the p06 have some sort of management installed in it? Like hondata, chrome, etc ? The only reason people usually changed their headgaskets is if they are installed head studs, which you should. Or if their changing to a thicker gasket to lower their compression. If you dont want to touch the compression, yes just use another oem honda gasket and put in the headstuds.

You can get an OEM D16Y8 MLS gasket online from the stealerships for ~$23 last time I looked. With ARPs, they work with 400+ whp, assuming block/head surfaces are flat.
With an FMU, you will need a fairly large turbo for a 'safe' 200whp, and definately need to upgrade your pump. With engine management, you'll need larger injectors, and cleaned DSM 450's will work for cheap - even with your stock fuel pump. Most civics have a weak fuel pump, 79lph or less. The GSR fuel pump is 139lph, and the base teggy pump is 79lph.
With that evo turbo, I'd guess you'll need 10-12psi to hit 200whp, assuming you have a decent 2.5"+ exhaust.
