rear disk swap question
99 si rear disks going on a 99 ex.
do you need th prop valve imediatly? or can you put it on later or do you need it at all?
i have heard all 3 scenrios and need to know which one is correct.
can anybody shed some light for me?

You should change the proportioning valve along with the brakes.
You can run without it, but you will not have the proper brake bias as set from the factory.
The '99-00 Civic Si shared it's proportioning valve with all '96-00 3dr CX, 2dr and 3dr DX, and 2dr HX trims - so you can use a valve from any of those cars. Why not run to a salvage yard and pick one up to install at the same time you swap the brakes themselves? That way, you'll only have to bleed out the system once.
You will not need to swap the master cylinder, since the Civic Si came with the same 7/8" master cylinder that your EX has. It is not necessary to touch the master cylinder for a rear disc conversion on any Civic.
