Default ABS light... Need help resetting it...

My ABS light is on. Probably from removing the front sensors at one point. They're back in now. ABS light still on. Tried to disconnect battery, and also tried to disconnect ABS fuse and relay to reset it. Didn't work.

I'm pretty sure resetting the ABS light had something to do with jumping certain contacts/terminals in the fuse box inside the car. Forgot what it was though. Can anyone help?

U could have possibly bent the sensor wire too much. Did u? I know that's what happened to me when I had someone service my car.

ABS has a separate control module.
You need to go to the dealer and have the code cleared, unfortunately.
They have to hook up the PGM Tester to clear it.

Look in the Helms manual on how to diagnose a light, you may have a damaged sensor. Otherwise, the ABS light should reset when you turn the car off.

You could have possibly damage the sensor wire. If the ABS light remains on, the ABS computer has stored a diagnostic trouble code.To display the diagnostic trouble code-unplug the service check connector from the connector cover located underneath the glove box. Turn the ignition switch on, but don't strat the engine.2 second after you turn on the ingnition, the ABS computer will begin displaying any stored diagnostic trouble code by blinking the ABS indicator light on & off. Hope it help.

I'm sure that my ABS sensors weren't damaged. I did disconnect the ABS power wire before, and this might have triggered it. I tried to disconnect the power wire, fuses and relays from the ABS unit, and I went as far as to disconnect the ECU and battery, yet the light stays on.

You said there's a diagnostic connector for the ABS unit under the glove box. Can you describe to me what it looks like? There are a few plugs there. Is it by the 2 wire plug to jump for the check engine light codes? Also, how would I go about in erasing the codes after I've jumped it to see what triggered it?

I know there's a way to clear ABS codes without the dealer computer thing. I've seen it done, but can't find the guy.

If there is no problem with your sensor the ABS light won't come on, anyway to reset the it----with the jumper wire installed & the ignition off, press on the brake pedal & then turn the ignition on but don't start the car. When the ABS indicator light goes out, release the brake pedal until the light comes on again and press on the brake pedal. Hold the pedal down until the ABS light goes out and release the pedal. The ABS light should blink twice to indicate that the code are erased. Ture off the ignition, remove the jumper wire, and its done. If you have faulty sensor the ABS light will comes on again, good luck.

Do I install the jumper wire at the same connector as the Check Engine light wire clip (the 2 wire clip on the top corner of the glove box)?

What if I go through the reset procedure as described by DC5 Type-R above and at the end I get 3 blinks instead of 2???

Here is how I did it on my 1999 accord.
Place the jumper acros 9&4 of your diagnostic plug, just as you would do to read the engine or abs codes. With the jumper in place, follow the steps below:

Turn witch to the on (not start) position
As soon as the abs light comes on, press the brake pedal
As soon as the abs light turns off, release the brake pedal
As soon as the abs light comes on, press the brake pedal again
As soon as the abs lught turns off, release the brake pedal
The abs light will flash 2 times indicating there are no more fault codes and the light is reset
Turn ignition switch off, remove the jumper, abs light should be out

If at the end of the above procedure the abs light flashes 3 times, you still have a problem with your abs and the light will not reset until all faults are taken care off

Another option:
Pull the bulb from cluster. Replace ABS system with non-ABS system.
