Random ABS light coming on
Ok my 95 DB8 is throwing an ABS warning light on randomly. It doesn't come on all the time but if I drive it then turn it off, then the ABS light will come on.
Any ideas on where to start?
I was told to try checking the ABS fuse..
I wanted more experience behind advice so here I am asking..
Thanks in advance for your help.

Re: Random ABS light coming on
i would check and see if it is throwing a code. Maybe its one of your sensors or something that is throwing the code intermittently

Re: Random ABS light coming on
I know that this started when I was jump starting a dead battery. I accidentally put the negative to the positive terminal and same with the positive to negative terminal. Since then it has been happening. Just don't know why it is intermittent.

if you aren't noticing any actual problems with your abs, and this did occur after you shorted the battery, try clearing the code(s). here's the procedure:
1. Short the service check connector (under the glovebox, same one shorted to check engine codes).
2. Depress the brake pedal.
3. Turn the ignition switch ON (II) while keeping the brake pedal depressed.
4. After the ABS light goes OFF, release the brake pedal.
5. After the ABS light comes ON, depress the brake pedal.
6. After the ABS light goes OFF, release the brake pedal.
After a few seconds, the ABS light blinks twice and the DTC(s) are erased. If the light does not blink twice repeat steps 1-6. If the light stays ON after the light blinks twice, check the DTC because a problem was detected during initial diagnosis before shifting to DTC erasure mode.
if code(s) still persist, pull the code(s) from the abs module. there will be an indicator led on the module which will flash in accordance to the code

Re: Random ABS light coming on
IMO, it's easier to just clear them. if it just happened because of the short, ie an irregular voltage detected at the module, it would probably be fine. that way you don't have to pull trim for no reason and spend time deciphering the code (i'm going under the assumption that the module is mounted behind a trim panel, like the da's are). start with the easiest first. always.
iono. that's just what i'd do

Re: Random ABS light coming on
To clear them I just have to short the connectors? I want to do this the proper way. If anything pops up I will go Dogginators way.

Re: Random ABS light coming on
I had a issue with my ABS light, allthough it was a easy diagnosis.
The Rear ABS sensors were completely rusted out. The light only comes on when it's raining or the ground is wet from snow.
