2 Step activation question.. MSD
So im a noob when it comes to using 2-steps. I got the MSD 2-step and I was wondering if there is a sort of switch that can be used to activate and disactivate it. I saw a guy at the track who simply pressed a buttom to turn it on. I couldnt really find it in the search and I also joined the MSD forum but they were no help.
so if you could please post info and pics of your setup!!! a how-to would be great also!! thanks

Its a launch control system. I holds the revs at an adjustable point so that all you have to do is floor the throttle and pop the clutch for more consistent launching. It saves the touble of having to stare at your tach while keeping an eye on the tree at the same time.

hahahahaha are u kidding?
anyways u should have rpm pills to set the l/c at what ever rpm u want.it works by cutting the ign. at your desired rpm.2step can also be done by chipping a ecu and setting it though t/e,crome, uberdata, those programs cut fuel instead of ignition sounds little diff too. what kinda of motor are u seing?i got a dohc zc and i got mine set at 3569,also mine is done with a chipped ecu via turboedit,u need to go out on a empty road with a few differant rpm pills and try it out to see where u like it best.

Using a B16a. Yea I know its adjustable. But everytime I floor it it activates even though I dont want it to. Thats why I was looking for a switch system that arms it when needed.
WHAT IN THERE NOW?what do u mean by floor it do u have clutch in or are u driving?cause i know with a chipped ecu if your speedo deosnt work launch control wont disengage, not sure if msd is set up the same way?
alot of my b16 buddys got theres set around 4500 just an ideal so u can work off of that.

I dont really understand what your saying but. In first gear when I floor it, the revs hold at whatever I have them adjusted to. I just want to know if you can install a button, switch or whatever to disactivate it. When I do the burn out, 1st gear wont go past 4200 which I have it at which means the burn out is weak.

if im drop my clutch from a dead stop mine wont go past 3500,now if u roll backwards a bit then drop it it will burn them off the rims.u got to be rolling a tad so l/c will disegage.
THINK MOST DRAG CARS ARE ROLLING THOUGH THE WATER BOX WHEN THEY DO THEY BRUNOUT IF U WANT IT ON A SWITCH THATS CALLED A LINE LOCK.

I have the MSD Digital SCI w/ 2 step and all it is, is a wire going to the msd unit that when receives a 12v signal it holds your RPM's where ever you want it to. You should put a push button momentary switch in line from a 12v source to your msd 2 step wire. When you push and hold the button it will activate and when you release it will deactivate. I would use this to select a rpm when ready to launch.
hope this helped you.
