Default EG cluster questions

I have an EG JDM Cluster on my hatch but I want the speedo to read MPH. I hate doing the conversion, and when I'm on the track, I need to know the speed in MPH at certain sections in order to gauge my entry and exit speeds. Its hard to figure out the conversions right away. The reason I have the JDM cluster is because the tach shows the correct redline for my ITR engine.

Any way to get another white faced speedometer to read in mph? Or buy a USDM cluster, but have the tach read past 8K rpms?

thanks in advance.

A Si or EX cluster tach reads up to 9000 rpm.

The SI and EX cluster's redline starts around 6800-7K RPMs. I need it to start at the same as my JDM cluster.

EX/Si = 7200 redline.

You don't need one, you just want one. Like "I need a smoke" - no I just want one. JK.

You could mod the EX/Si cluster to read a 8000/8200 redline. That's what I did - not that hard.

How did you do that?

You're right, I don't really need it, but I'd like one for convenience sake.

Here's what I found on ebay. It'd be perfect, but too damn expensive

just put a USDM Speedo in the cluster, and deal with the black backround, leaving the tach and fuel white.

You just said "On the track" so cosmetics shouldn't really matter IMO.

1. Take cluster apart.

2. NEATLY paint tach gauge dial.

3. Put cluster back together.

4. Take EG/ITR to the track and rev.

I have to say that I did not do that great of a job on mine, but it's no show car so I don't give a fvck.

Actually, I take that back about "needing". Since you're tracking that machine, it would be nice (here I am putting words in you're mouth) to see the needle hit the redline out of the corner of your eye without having to stare at the tach, therefor taking your eyes off the road.

No, but I'll put some up tomarrow. It's dark in my state now (Maine it's in the Arctic) and I only have a shitty camera phone. If you want me to post a pic tell me now and remember...<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by mcvtec &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">I have to say that I did not do that great of a job on mine, but it's no show car so I don't give a fvck.</TD></TR></TABLE>

How would the ITR fit?

I would prefer plug and play.

ITR cluster will not fit w/o mod. EDM cluster is really what you want but all the ones I've seen for sale are $$$ expensive.
