Default Polyeuro engine mounts

Anybody get major vibration like I do, while idling? My friggin car is like vibratiing like hell at idle, steering wheel shakes real bad sometimes, and its more apparent when the ac is on.

Anybody else having these problems? Anybody think I got a broken motor mount?

I think its the drivers side upper mount that gives the most vibration, I'm going to try to find and old stock one for the street.

I have the ES kit on. Barely any vibrations. I get a slight jolt when I start up the car but that's about it.

If you don't use A/C much you'll eventually get used to it but yeah it is annoying at idle with the A/C on.

Ya, I had the same result with just the ES kit.

I'm thinking I want more stiffness than just the ES kit. I was thinking of combining it with the Prothane. You did it before right? The ES kit is softer so I thought if I left the ES rear insert and then used the Prothane street setup things would be okay. Have you done this setup on your car? I thought I remember a post where you used the Prothane race setup along with your ES kit.

I'll take your word for that one...

How is the setup currently? Novelty worn off yet? I'm thinking of Prothane uppers, but would like to hear some more feedback.....

On my Civic I had the Prothane kit. It was too stiff for me, and I think the engine WAS too stiff. There was NO movement.
The engine needs some movement or things start to break.

I then tried the Energy Suspension kit. Still vibrated like crazy.. so I decided to pull one of the half pieces of the rear mount. That calmed it down a lot.

Mike K. has the Mugen Mounts on his Integra, and my brother Mike M. has the Spoon mounts on his EK. THose are the best, I think. They are considerably stiffer than stock, but they aren't annoying at idle.

Kinda pricey, but mad quality.

Ed, I get the same thing too - but i figured it was the light flywheel, or upgraded clutch that caused it... I guess it could be the ES inserts that I have too...

I dunno if I'm willing to go with a spoon or mugen replacement kit yet. Too much $ imho if inserts will do the same thing... And inserts are *somewhat but not really* easier to remove.....

I'm thinking prothane street inserts for my uppers and see how it feels with the ES lowers.....

Ken, I used to get that in my CRX now and then.
And, it used to happen to the R even before the inserts.
Maybe has something to do with the throttle cable tension,
or just because the engine mounts are purposefully "soft" to soak up vibrations while still keeping the occupants comfortable.

I'll be trying the new mounts with the new motor. Ed
