Help ... did swap and car wont start!

Default Help ... did swap and car wont start!

just put a d16y8 into my 92 vx hatch ...it has a p28 chipped ecu ... the car has spark, and fuel, it does crank, but i dont know why it wont start ... anybody suggest anything?? thanks for all your help ... brian

haha, well it had some zex spark plugs ... could i assume maybe that it had nos at one time and something went wrong?????

try moving ur dizzy....first make sure ur not using a vtec dizzy, then loosen, dont take them off, just loosen the bolts on it, try advancing and then retarding the dizzy. I remember when i did my swap i thought i had timed it correctly following that i advanced the dizzy and boom it started (i had the SAME exact symptoms as you), later on i retimed it and found that for whatever reason after advancing the dizzy all the way i was only off by like a degree or somethin. Worth a shot.

make sure your sparkplug wire are in the right order on the dizzy thats probably what the problem is!!!

Timing off? If your getting everything needed then theres only so many things it can really be i think.

The distributors are teh same vtec or non vtec

Maybe its just me but a y8 is vtec, so why would you want to be using a non-vtec dizzy?

doestnt matter, im gettin spark, isnt that all i need from the dizzy? im using a z6 dizzy, i just replaced the internals on the dizzies
