steering noises

Default steering noises


hey ever since i got my car back i have realized that whenever i turn my steering wheel my car makes "noises" from the front. its not a rubbing noise. so i checked my PS fluid and its full. but maybe should i just change it. my car turns fine but that noise is driving me crazy.

and answers/ advice is appreciated

If its full on fluid, you may try flushing it, but you may need a new p/s pump soon.

You might have some air in the system. I had bought a PS pump from a 00 SI. I installed it in the car and every time I would crank the car up and let it run, the fluid would just boil over. I could never figure out what was wrong with it until one day I had noticed that one of the bolts was missing that holds the pump together. I never would of thought that would cause this problem. What was happening was the bolt being missing was causing an air leak which in turn was causing sever cavitation. Put a new bolt in and has been working ever since.

ok ill try flushing it but if you dont know i just got my whole front end fixed form an accident. so do you think it just might be damaged from that? any idea where i can get one or how much they cost?

It could be your axels. Check to see if the boot is ripped.

if your fluid is full and clean it could be the axel or your tie rod. the inner tie rod tends to make a nasty little noise when it goes bad.
