2000 Accord Auto transmission slipping
I'm trying to figure out whats wrong with it. I guessed it was the torque converter, but after reading several other threads i'm thinking it might be worse. The trans is slipping when you first start to move, it slips up to 2k and then kicks into first to move. Its been mentioned to me that it has slipping in higher gears, IE: 3rd going into 4th. I'm really trying to narrow it down to see if its even worth taking apart right now. Thanks in advance.
you have to act kinda quick you have 7years+9months or 109Kmiles before ur expletiveed, if ur under that many miles/age u can get u a new one 4 FREE and ill give u the phone number you need to call,
Its an L4, way beyond the milage for the TSB. Its got like 200k+ Miles on it. I guess its the clutchpacks then because it accelerates normally except for the slight slippage.
Try doing the tranny cooler and filter...might help. I know it helps some people and helps prolong the length of it a bit. Ive also heard of people asking for Honda Goodwill service if their tranny fails due to the same causes as the extended warranty suggest, with success. They'll like cover materials and you pay for labor or something.
But I suggest maybe doing a drain and fill, adding additional tranny filter and cooler, and see how it goes. I mean all in all its like 80$ worth of parts that can potentially save you a lot of grief.
