Wont Start
ok my hatch wont start... easy
car cranks (tho i killed the battery cranking it.. its charging now) i have fuel .. i took off the dizzy cap rotor looks good but i did notice some corrosion on the coil tip and the little spring in the cap.. now if my coil or igniter is bad i wont get spark? Correct? if so should i just get a new dizzy? or fix those two parts (about the same in $$) i am gonna look at the plugs as soon as my friend gets here to help me get it back in the drive way. i tried to pop start it that wouldn't work either. that kinda tells me no spark?
or what else could it be...

you shouldn't guess whether or not your getting spark.
Get a spark tester or hook a timing light up.
If you see no light your not getting spark.
if your not getting spark you can buy a new coil. Get your old one tested at advanced/auto wherever first.
Coils are known for going bad.
To my knowledge you cannot buy the ignitors, you'll have to buy the whole dizzy.
However all obdI and obdII coils/ignitors are interchange able so if you have one laying around or know someone that has one laying around you can steal the parts out of it.

my timing light got stolen so i have to wait for my friend to get here to see if i get spark cant do that by my self. i am just sitting here stumped and trying to bounce some ideas off people
lol true dat... ya i have pretty mush narrowed it down to check for spark. cant think of anything else it would be... it ran fine the day before (wednesday) then nothing.
well good luck dude. Post whether your getting spark or not.
there are only 4 componets needed to make an internal combustion engine run
spark
fuel
timing
compression

Well at least check, it takes <5 minutes.
1) Pull a plug wire out (any plug wire) - leave it connected to the distributor
2) Pull the plug out of the same cyl where you just unplugged the wire from
3) Now that both the wire and the plug are out of the cylinder, insert the plug into wire.
4) Hold the spark plug by the rubber cap and have a friend turn the car, the tip of the plug should be sparking, if not, obviously you have no spark. Don't bother with sticking a screwdriver up the plug wire or holding a plug wire to the chassis or any of that crap - might as well simulate it in its natural state, not to mention it's easier...
PS:
A new igniter and a new rotor are NOT the same amount of money as an entire new distributor.
Pick up a new cap, rotor, and igniter, and most likely it'll start. Getting an entire new distributor is a waste, the casing alone is expensive as ****, and between the igniter, rotor, and cap, it should be less than 100 bucks.
AND, to make things better, you can swap the rotor/cap/igniter off a friend's car to see if that's it, and if it starts put your rotor/cap back on and see if it starts again, then you can narrow it down to whether it's the igniter or not without spending a nickel.

Well you say you know how to test for spark but you're not even sure if it's the spark (you're assuming).
You've narrowed it down to...CHECKING for the spark.
I've never seen a new distributor for a civic that cheap, but if you can get it for that you might as well, though like I said, if you can find a friend that has a Honda, you might as well pull the guts out and see if you can use his igniter, and his stuff, opposed to spending 200 bucks and just buying everything, though if it's brand new for 190 bucks, might be worth it.
