heater problem
ok i did search but i couldnt find the answer that im looking for. what would cause my heater not to work? when i put my heat on full blast it barley gets hot. so do you think its the heater core?
mine 2, my car is warmed up to its mark, i even drive on it at 55mph for miles, and the heater doesent blow hot, it blows warm...i even did a 60% water and 40% coolant mix, still warm......
Make sure your heater valve is moving when you turn the temp ****.
It's located under the hood right near the firewall in one of the two heater hoses (about 1" in overall diamter). It will have a lever on top and a cable attached to this lever. Turn the **** full hot or cold and note the position, then turn the opposite and note the position again.
It's not uncommon for these plastic parts to get brittle in the cold and break.
If that checks out you could have debris in your heater box, or a stopped up heater core among other things.

First check your heater valve in the engine bay. Make sure it is all the way open. then Check the hoses going into your firewall that are for the heater. check the one going in and the one going out while the car is warmed up. They should both be warm. if those are both warm and you don't have hot air you gotta check the vent doors coming off of the heater core. If you reach your hand up behind the stereo you will be able to feel the cable where the heater **** attaches to the door. That cable also connects to the valve you checked in the engine bay. so if you have hot air running through your heater core and this door is not open..it will recirculate within itself. if you slide that cable off the heater door, you will be able to freely adjust the door and you will have a bunch of hot air coming out...
I know this probably doesn't make any since and most likely will not fix your problem, but it fixed my problem.

Possible yes, probably, not so much. The local parts store may have some sort of flush chemical that you can put in to help break up the trash, but be advised flushing is probably a temporary solution at best. FWIW It is close to 100 bucks for a heater core from the local parts store.
