vtec issues
The problem that I'm havin is when vtec engages the car loses power and when it reaches 6000rpm then it takes off. Vtec is set at 5000rpm. Could it be a bad chip cause the ecu is chipped

How did you arrive at 5000 RPM? Did you pull the number out of your *** or is that where it's making optimal horsepower in accordance with a dynometer?
More info would also be nice, year engine, engine model, upgrades, etc.

Do you have stock cams? What's your redline? You might wanna UP the fuel pressure to compliment the early vtec or have the vtec set higher up the rpm. Your cams might not be making enough power.
i have skunk2 stage 2 cams. skunk2 intake manifold. jg headers, 2.5" custom exhaust, ive tried changing the vtec engagement points with my vafc and it does the same thing until the car reaches 6000rpm then it starts pulling hard
