Default Some One want to help my Friend

He Bought a Ef Hatch Dx and Wants me and my buddy to swap it cause the motor in it is ticking, he picked up a Y8 and has not been listening to me, Has ask tons of other ppl and he wants to use his stock Harness and ECU. I don't know how many times I told to get the OBD2 Wire harness and ECU, But he doesnt think he has to. Can everyone on H-T tell him it would be easier to do it my way with the right stuff . And tell him u can wire in Vtec with A ECU that doesnt have Vtec man he's lost. Anyone who can help me Thanks

what he has to do is wire the car for mpfi. then the proper way would be to run the y8 either obd1 or obd2 with the jumper harness. but it is possible to run the car obd0 and ghetto wire vtec. but if he does that he will still need a pm6 and a si dizzy.

I have put a y7 in a crx before using the stock a6 intake mani, exhaust mani, distributor, ect. That alowed me to use the stock a6 harness and ecu. No problems.

I know all that but using the OBD2 Harness would be a lot better and cleaner

ok Y7 doesnt not apply here man so go race your car. to convert a y8 swap you must get an ecu , convert to mpfi, and go to obd1 or obd2. I love obd1.

same thing applies in this post:

run on sentences make my head hurt,
1. u can not use the obd2 harness easily!!!!
2. if not and hf or si multi point wiring must be done with the clips off the obd2 harness along with vtec etc..
3. get an jump harness and convert to obd1 it will be worth the 150 bucks or less.
4. take your time do more SEARCHING i think more people on here have done this swap, than actually live in the whole state of road island!!!
5. if this is your buddy's car don't help him unless you or he is going to do IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME, trust me this will save you both time and possibly your friendship depending on how bad everything gets messed up, good luck and use the search on here!

Why dont 07's like to use the spell checker that is provided for them?

Have you ever done a swap?? Doesnt sound llike you have... Use the plugs from the OBD2 harness and wire them into the original harness. And like some people said you have to convert it to a MPFI. Covert it to OBD1, its easier.. You dont have to deal with the second O2 sensor and all the other unnecessary crap.. Anyway.. Learn to love the search button.. It finds answers for you
