Default some fab work today

Shitty day out today and had some time on my hands. With being off on the holiday season(I still need a job, just recovered from a bike wreak) I decided to make a 3" inch down pipe and 38mm wastegate dump tube today on my friends car.

Adjective:
-Fab up a down pipe that had good ground clearance(car will be slam)

-Have the cut out with the best ground clearance.

-Have good clearance with the oil pan

-Have the dump tube where it doesn't cover most of the goodies(big turbo for street car-sorry can't give out spec on turbo size and motor set up).

-Every thing will be stainless steel.

-Have the dump tube where it doesn't cover most of the goodies(big turbo for street car-sorry can't give out spec on turbo size and motor set up).

-Just some thing nice

This is how it worked out for my firends car at VIP tinting and detailing.

(I didn't make the cut out) for got to put the before pic of the dump tube.

The application

Tigging

o2 bung(would of welded the o2 bung farther up but, that was the only best spot to but it because of the cut out clearance and the half shaft)

Last tacking

finished

Waste gate

Installed

About half an inch clearance

Thanks to LD-rhdEG6 for taking the pictures

-Not pictured Cusco lsd install...............................

I hope you enjoy:D(ain't bad from a bike wreck about 2 months ago with a messed up shoulder, broken ribs, and alot of road rash.

-Alex

If you don't mind me asking, what kind of manifold is that? Thanks!

Will your turbo drain efficiently with the center section being rotated more than it should be?

looks like an inline pro to me, just polished.

welds look good. i'd look into making the dump a little longer though imo.

it looks like a quick time performance.

are you gonna make a pipe to extend the dump out from under the car?

Thanks for the reply, as for the dump tube I usually don't make them like this. usually I have them routed under the pan or out the side of the bumper(I always wanted to route one out of the hood-but haven't gotten a chance yet.) I know down the line I know my friends is going to have me change it up once he gets more materials. As I qouted all materials was provided from my friends, for his car at his tint and detailing shop.

The stainless turbo manifold was from Inline Pro(they're only about 20 to 15 min drive from my house). As for oil return line its right at the very bottom, its just the angle the car was sitting and the angle of how the picture was taken.

As for my friends pup, yeah most of time he was upstairs and kept away.

This is also a car that made a dump tube and etc on

I'll make them go under and cut the end of the pipe at a slant.(this wasn't fully welded up yet this was just a mock up. the down pipe was moved up higher and was extended a little more.

Do I spy an old street sign for your welding table?

lol, very good eye. yeah the shop use to make alot of signs, banner, stickers, and etc. I didn't really have a table to weld on there. I used that sign and a plastic trash can and flip it up side down.

kinda hard when it was more of a "I'll come to you type of work" I would like to find some type of portable welding table that light, strong, and stable(this one was hard to work with-lol).

Looks good. Might have to relocate that o2 though, when the cutout is open it'll probably get some oxygen reversion in there and skew the o2 readings.
