ok here are the problems... takes awhile to start, maybe 8-10 times of turning over... i think its the starter... when it finally starts it then jumps around in idle and when you hit the gas it tries to stall, but also if you just let it idle it then eventually just drops in rpm and then stalls... engines been rebuilt, all new gaskets also, new fuel filter and pump, new plugs, wires, cap, rotor, coil, oil pressure and a/f mistures all good... its actually running just a little rich... new o2 sensor also... i know my battery and alternator were both shot and i replaced the battery and ordered a new alternator... could the battery have been causing the stalling part? but before it was shot it would still have a weird idle... any ideas and comments would be appreciated... i need this car to get to and from work.

 

I would put money on your timing being off.

 

i had the same prob when i did my rebuild rushin, intake cam was 3 teeth off

 

nope, i just reset the timing and its dead on now...

hahahaa i have the same problem. tried everything too man. i've been on this problem since june and it's almost new years LOL idle drop low and wants to stall also. timing is right on teeth. i hope you find the solution! if you do , don't forget to drop the details on here

 

get some carb cleaner and spray around you vac lines and ur IM, might have a gasket leak or bad vac line maybe?

 

Try putting " SEA FOAM" into you vac lines and it will help it, might not fix the prob but won't hurt.
Any codes?

 

Check your cam gear check that they are still running insc..meaning check the arrows, and make sure that they are both pointing in the same direction, next if that is the problem you might have a timing belt with broken teeth, replace before you bend a valve.

 

timing was just set, FULLY rebuilt motor with all brand new belts... ran fine for a few weeks and all of sudden started it up and this whats happening... ill check vacuum lines, IACV, and no gaskets leaking tomorrow... ill keep ya posted eg6d15 too haha

well i figured out my problem, my buddy came over and we just started testing everything... the one thing that we replaced not too long ago was actually my problem so i didnt even think about it... it was my tps sensor... at no throttle it read 1.1ohms and open throttle it read .2ohms... replaced it and everythings good now.... now i just gotta get an alternator still so i can actually drive it... haha
