Has the car been warmed up?

Try double checking the wiring.

And how do you know vtec isn't engaging?

I took it to get tuned, and the car not only dyno'd at 112 whp, it just revs out like
a normal ls no pull, no high cam switch point, no difference in sound. My last hatch was a ls vtec and vtec was abruptly noticable. the car was operating temp on dyno. anything else you can think of other then the wiring

are you getting a CEL? is vtec even engaging? you should be pulling close to 160 at a minimum.

what bottom end are you running? stock ls?

Built bottom end, ctr pistons arp rod bolts knife edged crank. No vtec is not engaging and yes i should be pulling well into the 160's easy. the problem is the vtec solenoid is showing 12v at activation but engine doesn't switch over to high cam. what could be the problem?

I don't know the electronic parts of vtec, is it supposed to engage at 12v or something? Is the engine grounded properly from the valve cover? I don't know if it will help, but it might be worth trying

you have a bad vtec solenoid....if the wire going into it has 12 volts; vtec should be working....if its not, the solenoid is bad
