Anyone know how to reset the SRS light? Asking for a friend
A friend of mine has installed a JDM ITR steering wheel and his SRS light is on all of the time. Has anyone experienced this before? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
I just did this..
The entire process is outlined in section 23 of the helms manual. To do this you need to short the MES connector, which is the yellow connector that clips to the front of the interior fuseblock. Pull it out and short it with a service connector/paperclip and then it goes something like this...
-Ignition off: Short MES connector
-Ignition on: SRS comes on and then goes out. within 4 seconds open connector (remove short)
-SRS light comes on. Within 4 seconds short connector.
-SRS light goes out. Within 4 seconds open connector (remove short).
-SRS light blinks twice and goes off indication sysytem has been reset.

Yea what sack said:
Similar steps as in the links below were used on my car to reset SRS because of my JDM SRS wheel install. The person had a service maual for a integra I think and my car is a 00 Civic Si. Anyway we used a paperclip worked like a charm. ABS is seperate and pulling the battery and reseting ECU will not help. My has been reset for months now with no problems.

Just go grab your trusty Honda PGM Tester and hook it up to the port found near the hood release lever and reset it. That's all I did after I got my alignment and wanted to streighten my steering wheel. It's as easy as that.

okay, what's my trusty honda PGM tester?? never heard of that one.. and also, what port are we talking about? is it that harness next to the clutch resivior bundled together with the other main harness that's plugged up to the engine?? is there any specific way i need to plug it into the port?? and will that cure my horn problem too??
It's roughly a $3,000 tool that usually only dealers have. USUALLY. The port is inside the car near the interior fuse panel and hood release. It'll pretty much reset anything you want and will tell you anything the ECU can read.
