i'm looking at possibly installing a/c into my 94 civic vx. i tried to search but couldn't find out what all i needed to pull from another civic to make this possible. any previous threads with pics that might help uninstall from donor and install? and how to convert it to r134? they were all r12 back then right?

I did this on my 92, but I had another 92 parts car with everything in it.

Compressor and bracket
drier
lines
condenser with fan
middle section of the interior HVAC (no A/C cars have a section in between that's just removed and replaced)
A/C switch for dash
belt

I did it without doing any of the orings or seals, I just emptied the A/C, removed the stuff and installed it the same day. I then had a shop suck the rest of the oil out and put it on a vac for about a half hour. I did the conversion to 134 with the kit, it takes less 134. I overfilled it alittle and the car wanted to stall, so I just took some out. Worked OK, better than nothing!

I did this about 5 years ago, so I may be forgetting something. Mine did have r12 in it to start with.

Majestic Honda used to sell the add on kit and had instructions for the install but I'm not sure if they still do. hondaautomotiveparts dot com

If you want 134a 94-95 models came equipted with 134a. Simple to do like he said, should be able to do in a day.

 

thanks guys. is there any references picture wise i can refer to? everything looks the same under the engine for me. not a wrencher at all
