Default Air Conditioning not working 92 Civic LX

Need some quick checks to find the electrical problem I believe causing the a/c to not work, just replaced both leaking service ports, pulled a vacuum and put some 134 to it, compressor will not kick on, finally found the low pressure switch on the accumulator and jumped the connector but still will not engage compressor or turn on condensor fan.....I swapped both relays around that are bolted to the radiator support but still nothing......what am I over looking? Fuses? Checked all in the engine compartment and they are good, I get a light on the A/C button on the dash but no engine speed up or cooling fan...this system did work last summer and then the refrigerant leaked out...........thanks in advance for your ideas.

how much 134 did you shoot in? i Believe too much or too little will cause the compressor to not kick on.

thats why they sell gauges

Thanks for your reply...after playing with the recirc/outside air switches/buttons on the dash the compressor started turning and the condenser fan came on and then took the rest of the can, I have my manifold set on it w/a can tapper and I do know what I am doing, I am now an old ex-service technician used to working on Fords and don't have any service manuals for this thing so I use the internet to search for solutions and........I just put in one 12 oz can w/sealer and had 160 psi high side and around 35 psi low side, was blowing cool, around 100 degrees and no humidity here in Castle Rock Colorado today.................drove it little bit to get some air through the condenser and it seemed to be working, cycled off on the way back and kicked on again after I was parked.........I am changing the engine oil now and will update progress later, hope it keeps on working......again thanks for your reply, Mike

Did you put R134a into a R12 system? I think your Civic takes 17-19 oz of R12, unless a proper R134a conversion has been done. And the A/C sealer is a bad idea as it can clog the system. Good luck.

This system was retrofitted before I bought it..........the problem is in the recirc/outside air switches on the dash, I had to hold them in with my finger and work them on and off several times and now the compressor is turning and it blows cold.....pressures normal......wish I had some contact cleaner to spray inside the switches. Longer drive coming up.
