b16 no vtec need some ideas
here is what i got i took my engine out and put in ctr pistons ctr cams valve train. i put it back in and road around a week. i tried to tune it today and i have no vtec. i am using chrome pro. i took out my brother ecu that is tuned for just about the same setup and still had no vtec. i used my ecu and he has vtec i know it is not the ecu or the wiring. has nothing to do with the vtec issues but i done a 3 angle valve job and backed off the valves (put 2 angles on valves 45 and another angle)this engine will scream even with out vtec. does 3 angle valve job and the valve work really make that big a diff. my car kills my brothers car on take off and i dont even have vtec.
is the vtec all hooked up correctly? is the ground wire pushed in all the way? check out the solenoid and connections then see where ya stand.

does the valve job really make that big of a difference?
cuz im bout to change my head gasket and though i might as well get a valve job, and if it makes that much of a diff. imma get a 3 angle valve job....

yeah i really did not think i would feel the differents but i did. all i did was regrind valves and 3 angle on seats. i am a machinist and did all the work myself i ported the head so it matched my intake gasket and exhast gasket then put it on a friends flow bench and made sure all the intakes ports flowed the same and all the exhaust ports flowed the same the head flowed about like a type r head .what i was shooting for.It flowed a little better than a type r head i think do to the angles i put on the valves.
if no vtec occur when hitting 5.5K, ur car will throw a check engine light for vtec malfunction
i will check the oil level first then jump to the wiring problem

sorry last night i was logged in with my brother user name.this is what i did i rigged the vtec in to my msd like i was using nos when the msd sent 12 volts to the vtec it works. Also i get no codes but speed sensor does the speed sensor cause the vtec to not work. the speedometer is jumping all over the plays going to try to fix that tonight
If your speed sensor is going out or is bad u will not have Vtec
#1 Engine needs to be warmed to have Vtec
#2 Oil Level and Pressure
#3 And need to be going over 25 MPH or 15 i dont remember
