i will be changing the headgasket on my 93 dx coupe and was wondering if i could use a y8 gasket instead of a b7 one.... not to be picky but i would prefer not to get "you probably could" answers here.. i will be buying a headgasket on saturday and want to know for sure which one to get...

 

Any special reasons why you're interested in that? If not stick with stock.

 

The y8 gasket will probably be cheaper, and yes, you can use it.

 

thanks guys..... it's just that the headgasket on there was a bitch to scrape off (without doing damage of course)... it's IS more expensive than the y8 gasket.... and i remember reading that it's compatible with my block in the mini me write up here... so i was just wondering if the same went for the head. thanks.

 

Advantages of the OEM Y8 HG : cheap, even from the dealership and it's a metal HG. No more scraping crap off!
