Default SIRIUS RADIO...For those who don't want it mounted on your dash...CUSTOM MOUNT!

i have a 97 ex.....i didn't want to have my sirius on my dash so i did i little custom mount thingy..nothing special......

i seperated the regular mount so it was just an L coming out of the back

i drilled a hole in the top of the cubby hole just enough to fit a screw-driver in....i used a shallow screwto hold the L part to the bottem of the cubby hole....drilled a hole in the very back of the cubby hole and ran the wires through...

from there i just ran the ant. wirebehind the glove box....down by the ecu and ran under the plastic pieces back to my trunk.....i have no carpet ot anything in my trunk so it made it a little easier...i just ran the wire up and through the bottem of my rear speakers onto my trunk lid......whole thing took me about 30 minutes to do............when i first had my sirius i used to have it on my roof.......i get a way better signal on my trunk......

Looks sortof like the installs I used to do using the bracketron brackets.

But if you did it without buying a $30 bracket then you get a from me.

I'm surprised you get better reception on the trunk. I do EVERY one of my sat antennas on the roof, and I've never had anyone come back and complain about reception.

For not half-assing it

It some cars the roof is not completely flat, so the antenna doesn't stay well. It also depends on the window seal being used in the car too. I put mine on my trunk, and it works well for me. (XM)

On another note, your install is great; however why not just go with a head unit, and integrated Sirius instead...?

my head unit is sirius ready, but my girl got me the sirius like 3 1/2 years ago for howard.....i didn't want to be a dik and return what she got me....but i really like this unit...i like the way it looks...plus i can keep the sirius on a station ans listen to a cd....if i see a song pop up on the sat. i can just flip over to it...plus i can pause the sat. fora certain period of time to play later (ex. i can pause howard for like 20 min when i know i'm going ona trip...listen to music, then go and ffw or rwd when i want ).............i might be getting a flip out soon so i might just change it then to the h-u....
