Default D16Z6 rod question z6/ls rod

hey im starting my turbo build and i bought a motor freshly rebuild d16z6 for NA, i took the rods and pistons out. are there any aftermarket stronger rods out there for that motor that does not involve taking the crank out? i just dont want to take it out to notch the block. or can i use stock LS rods without notching the block? thanks

It's not a smart idea to try and notch the block with the crank in. There is a shitload of metal dust that you will not be able to get off the crank. Do it the right way and tear the block down to nothing, notch it, clean it well, then reassemble. You can use LS rods without notching the block but they need machining.

No, you can't just put LS rods in and be done. You're still going to have to notch the block with Eagles.

Shouldn't take more than 20 minutes or so with a good carbide bit.
